Wesak Purnima Celebrations

Festivals of the Full Moon
The five-day period around the full moon is when extraordinary spiritual energies are available to the planet earth. These energies are greatly magnified by focused group meditations and provide an opportunity to use these energies for our development.

While the twelve full moon festivals are significant, the most important and intense full moon festival occurs during the full-moon of Taurus, or the Wesak Purnima.

The Legend of Wesak
According to legend, there is a valley lying at a rather high altitude in the foothills of the Himalayan-Tibet ranges. There gathers a group of Great Beings who are the custodians on Earth of God's Plan for our planet and for humanity. They arrange themselves in the north-eastern end of the valley, in concentric circles, and prepare for a great act of service. In front of the rock, looking towards the northeast, stand those Beings who are called by their disciples the Three Great Lords — the World Teacher (the Christ, also known as Maitriya or the Lord Krishna in the East), the Manu and the Lord of Civilization (the Mahachohan). These three face a rock upon which rests a great crystal bowl, full of water.

Just a few minutes before the exact time of the full moon, in the far distance, a tiny speck can be seen in the sky. It comes nearer and nearer, and grows in clarity and definiteness of outline, until the form of The Buddha can be seen, seated in the cross-legged position, bathed in light, with his hand extended in blessing.

Thus the legend runs: The Buddha returns once a year to bless the world, transmitting renewed spiritual life, through The Christ and the other Great Ones. The whole ceremonial blessing takes just eight minutes. This is known as the Buddha's annual sacrifice for humanity (for He comes back only at great cost), and He returns again to that high place where He works and waits. When The Buddha has again disappeared, the crowd rise to their feet; the water in the bowl is distributed in tiny portions to the Masters, initiates and disciples, and they then go their way to their place of service.

What will happen during the Wesak Festival Celebrations?
At the exact time of the Full Moon of Wesak at 7:42 am IST, all participants will be meditating in an ancient geometric configuration to pull tremendous amounts of spiritual energy. In the process, the practitioners will be showered with vast amounts of Divine Love, Divine Light and Divine Power. This would cleanse the aura and disintegrate negative thought patterns. You will come away feeling refreshed, clear and have a stronger purpose of your spiritual destiny.

As you participate in the Blessing of Mother Earth, you will also generate lots of good karma that you can share with your family and loved ones. Afterwards, you can bring your projects and have them blessed! It is estimated that meditating during the full moon is equivalent to meditating for several weeks straight. To meditate during the Wesak Full Moon is equivalent to meditating continuously for several months! Practicing the Meditation on Twin Hearts and the Great Invocation with 7 people is equivalent to over 100 people doing meditation independently. With 500 or more, like-minded spiritual disciples meditating simultaneously the effect is beyond comprehension. For this reason alone is worth participating in the event.

Wesak group meditations help bring down spiritual energies to heal the earth... and further enhance the good karma of Mother Earth and humanity
